Our Wedding

Hello, one and all.

Thought I’d start this on an apologetic note (despite the title) for my sudden disappearance from my very dusty blog. I know, I know.. I’ve been nagged at by some of my friends and “readers turned friends” since my last post over at Nak Naik Pelamin and it’s pretty embarrassing that they have to keep reminding me to update my blog.

Maklumlah.. Pengantin baru.

And yes, I’ve moved. I have several reasons, and one of it being the fact that this has a more personal feel to it. I actually consulted in a very good friend who is an avid blogger and she does have a point that I should include my name to my new blog url. As compared to my previous kahwin blog, this one will touch on more personal topics of my life.

Especially, my married life and how I plan to move on with it henceforth.

So, how’s married life been thus far, you ask? A. MA. ZING.

In my most honest opinion, nothing feels better than knowing that I will wake up next to the man I love the most (in my case, it would be my husband) everyday, for the rest of my life.

Even 3 months into my marriage, I’m still not over the wedding, to be honest. If I had to do it all over again with the same man, I would.

Especially recently, when my wedding photographers and videographers are giving me and Hubby teasers of their works!

Gasping. For. Air. (in a good way)

Here are a few awesome shots from Flashed Photography, for Day 1 of our wedding:

The first forehead kiss felt really, really special
Yes, I refused to have any henna on my hands for my wedding

The photos above are the ones in the nikah outift. Just for your additional information, I actually did my own makeup and styling for my solemnisation, and my own styling for the rest of my wedding outfits. And all of my dresses were designed by yours truly.

How can I not say syukur, and that I’m proud of my hard work? Alhamdulillah.

I’ll furnish a few more shots from our photographer, okay?

Our second outfit, a silver traditional songket, exclusively designed by me and Hubs
He passed the final gantry flawlessly; serenading me in front of so many guests at our wedding!

I really can’t believe he did it so confidently, as if he was expecting that to happen. One of my dreams definitely came true, when he ended up singing my favorite Malay song in front of our guests for his final gantry challenge!

And below, you will find the final outfit for Day 1. I bought it from the famous MINAZ boutique in KL, and of course, itchy fingers me just had to tweak it a little bit. I requested Ummi to sew me a puffy can-can skirt to be worn underneath the dress to make it puff!

And yes, as you might realise while looking at it – it IS Elsa-inspired (at that point, Frozen was still very hot in the market)!

Our very pretty just-like-we-wanted wedding cake c/o Sprinklemess
Cheesy nose rubs with you

And.. Here are a few more shots taken from Day 2 of our wedding, over at my husband’s side.

Singing the only Malay duet song I know – My Heart
Love how my headpiece compliments my dress, designed by yours truly
Our final outfit for Day 2, from Minaz Boutique
For those who asked, my satin shawls are from Adlina Anis

I admire how my husband can still look his dashing best at the end of 2 tiring days, while I, look pretty much very tired in the final outfit on Day 2. 😦

Whatever it is, it was a truly amazing experience. After all the strenuous preps – sourcing for vendors, making decisions for ourselves, running forwards and back, disagreeing a few times over and many many more. It was fun and exciting, but it got tiring at times. Sometimes, it just felt like we wanted to give everything up, skip the entire wedding idea and just proceed with getting solemnized when the day comes.

Oh, it wasn’t easy, trust me. But, we pulled through.

All praises to Allah.
